" Life is very short. Too short for beating your head against the wall, too short to try to understand things that don't matter, that are not asking to be understood by you. Leave them alone. Focus on what you have to do."
Ryan Holiday
Perimenopause
PERIMENOPAUSE can last for 10 years depending on how attuned you are to the symptoms. Usually, it gets kicked off by having your cycle get closer together (ex. 28 days to 25 days), you may notice poorer sleep, and maybe more anxiety.
Massive changes happen in the female brain starting around age 40, when brain metabolism changes. Maybe you can’t manage all the tasks the way you once could. Things are just a little slower while estrogen is fluctuating wildly.
You DO have agency over how to navigate these rocky hormonal shifts. Did you know you can even change your cortisol levels on an hour-by-hour basis?
Menopause
MENOPAUSE is different for every woman. The standard definition is that you have gone exactly one year without a menstrual period, typically ages 40-58, and the average is 52 years old.
